Recently, I have started talking about my new product a "Designing Stencil and Sketch." It is a set of tools to help create a pleasing compostition in our mixed media work.
I have been experimenting with a simple idea: since learning composition principles can be difficult, why not use a shortcut? I started stealing the composition of a finished page and transferring it to a page that was only a background. It was a lot of fun!
From there I created a stencil based on one of my finished pages. Lay it on your surface and map out where to put all the components you want on the page.
